Big Guns Clash In Premier League

Saturday, 07 November 2009 09:50
League leaders Chelsea play Manchester United in the top match of the Premier League this weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are favourites heading into the match and were given a boost when the Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended their transfer ban until a final decision is reached.

Ahead of the match Chelsea have just one player missing from their squad. Full-back Jose Bosingwa is still suffering from his knee problem and is unavailable.

Carlo Ancelotti's impressive start to life at Chelsea has not surprised Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The pair face each other for the first time in the Premier League on Sunday when United look to leapfrog Chelsea in the table.

Ferguson said: "I thought Ancelotti would do well. "He was a great coach at AC Milan. He won the European Cup twice and brought a wealth of experience with him to Chelsea."

"He brought a different system to the ones Chelsea have used in the past. It has maybe been easier to adapt tactics because they have very experienced players, who have more tactical knowledge than the younger ones," the United manager added.

United have not won at Chelsea since 2002 and have already lost to Burnley and, more recently, Liverpool. Chelsea have suffered league defeats to Aston Villa and Wigan.
