Your Messages

Race for Life is one of the most emotional events we are involved with.

Every year more and more of you run in memory of a loved one or a close friend or to say thank you to the people who have helped you overcome cancer.

We would like to share your story with others, it may inspire them to part in Race for Life and for you to tell us others about the people you will be thinking about during those 5 kilometres.

To tell us your story and/or who you will be running in memory of simply click on the 'Add a Comment' link below.

I am going to take part in the newport race for life with my mum and the reason behind this is in memory of my nan as she had cancer and for everyone who has suffered to raise as much money as possible to try and one day find a cure for this evil disease that has taken so many innocent lives. so that one day maybe people wouldnt have to loose a close one to them and there could be a cure for every type of the disease possible.

We will be running the race for life because 2 years ago my mum was diagnosed with cancer. She had a lumpectomy. My husband was diagnosed last May with tongue and neck cancer, which fortunately seems to be under control. Unfortunately whilst my husband still having treatment my Mums cancer came back. She is still fighting it at the moment and it is now in both sides and in the bones. My 2 children aged now 18 and 15 have gone threw alot in the last 2 years and we are all trying to keep smiling.

The reason i would like to take part in the race for life is as a year ago my close mate died of cancer. She was fighting it for about 7 months then it became to much. I would like to run to remember herx
